In the latest update on Star Citizen 4.0.1 PTU patches, Ryan, also known as Mac, shares insights on the recent changes and fixes implemented by Cloud Imperium Games (CIG). He expresses gratitude to his patrons and channel members for their support. Since his last video, two new patches have been released, alongside a dedicated game server hotfix aimed at addressing crashes. Although the hotfix is still propagating across servers, it is expected to improve the overall stability of the 4.0 preview build.

During his gameplay experience with the initial 4.0.1 PTU release, Mac encountered a few issues, particularly with the new handyman missions. While he enjoyed the missions’ concept, he faced problems completing them due to bugs that prevented the mission from updating correctly. However, he noted a significant improvement in stability, as he did not experience any major crashes or player desynchronization during his session. Overall, he observed that while many bugs have been addressed, several issues still persist within the game.

The first patch released on Monday included various gameplay and location updates, such as optimizations for contested zones and improvements to collision detection in Pyro Outposts. Additionally, personal cooldowns were added to certain missions, and the number of turrets around asteroid bases was reduced. The patch also addressed several bugs, including issues with ships despawning, missing mission markers, and overlapping cockpit button interactions. Overall, the patch aimed to tackle some persistent problems while also fixing multiple crashes.

The latest patch released the following night brought further gameplay updates, including progress tracking for missions and adjustments to stealth components. Notably, the Mustang Alpha’s cargo storage was improved to enhance the user experience for new players. This patch also included additional bug fixes, such as resolving issues with long loading times and disappearing nested vehicles during quantum travel. Despite the progress made, 18 known issues were still highlighted, indicating that there is more work to be done.

Looking ahead, Mac plans to stream his gameplay of the latest patches, specifically revisiting the handyman missions in Pyro. He emphasizes that CIG is committed to improving 4.0.1 and is likely to continue releasing patches regularly as they work towards a stable live version. While the timeline for the live release remains uncertain, he anticipates that it could be just weeks away, depending on the resolution of remaining bugs. Mac encourages viewers to subscribe and stay updated on the game’s progress, thanking his supporters for their continued engagement.
